"As I lay here in bed, sharing a hotel room with a few other Lyme patients who are all snoozing away.... I am just awestruck at what we accomplished here in DC these last two days.
There were so many things that made this year different than the three prior years... and one of the biggest changes that brought about these results was the fact that SO MANY PEOPLE who could not attend participated from home. The phone calls, faxes, tweets, and FB posts were AMAZING.
We surrounded the IDSA building for two full days. We were a sight to see and a force to be reckoned with. They hired numerous security/police just because we were coming.
We shut down the IDSA's phone lines. We shut down their Facebook page. And, WE SHUT DOWN THE IDSA! They closed early today because of our protest.
All of this happened with the help of all of those of you at home who worked diligently on the activism tasks we put out there.
The end result is one we should feel proud of, and one that creates hope for the future:"
"Believe us, we hear you, and we ARE listening." ~ The IDSA
