my reply to the cruel and uncaring comments made in regard to yet another article ridiculing Yolanda Foster:
i am truly shocked by the lack of humanity and empathy in some of the below comments; I would venture to guess that none of you have dealt with a life altering chronic illness before. The reason she is "attention seeking" as some put it, is exactly why she should be applauded even more than just for her bravery; she is raising awareness for the single fastest growing infectious disease in our country.... ten times that of AIDS and twice that of breast cancer. Those of us who are fighting MOMENT by MOMENT to be able to live the lives that so many take for granted everyday, are so very grateful for her speaking out about this very serious and largely misunderstood disease, despite getting ridiculed by ignorant and uncaring people. Do yourself a favor, get educated; in the time it took you to write the comment that you did, you could have gone toTBDAalliance.org and learned something 'factual' about this devestating illness, or better yet, you could make a donation to help, perhaps a child now in a wheelchair from a tick bite. At the rate this disease is growing, there is a very real possibility you too will get infected, and it is very probable it will affect a loved one....awareness and education is our only weapon.
